Balancing equation

Post by mechann1138 »

need to help to balance this equation i dont know how to do it. this is my first time to be in here..

1. Hydrogen and oxygen gas react to form water.

2. Potassium metal reacts violently with twater to form a basic solution of potassium hydroxide, releasing hydrogen gas.

3. Aluminum comboines with hydrogen to make gaseous ammonia.

4. silicon reacts with chlorine gas to form liquid silicon tetrachloride.

5. zinc reacts with aquenos hydrogen chloride to form aqueos zinc chloridee and hydrogen gas.

6. propane fuel burns in oxygen to form carbon dioxide and water.

7. Nitrogen combines with hydrogen to make gaseous ammonia.

please help me to write formula for eah reactant and product,,, then the complete chemical equation include physical state for ech substance..and balance each equation with the correct procedures..

thank you very much and i appreciate your help..

OK, under each question I wrote an unbalanced equation and if you click on it you will see it balanced.

1. Hydrogen and oxygen gas react to form water.
H2(g) + O2(g) = H2O(l)

2. Potassium metal reacts violently with twater to form a basic solution of potassium hydroxide, releasing hydrogen gas.
K(s) + H2O(l) = KOH(aq) + H2(g)

3. Aluminum comboines with hydrogen to make gaseous ammonia.
That is not possible, Al with H2 would not make NH3!

4. silicon reacts with chlorine gas to form liquid silicon tetrachloride.
Si(s) + Cl2(g) = SiCl4(l)

5. zinc reacts with aquenos hydrogen chloride to form aqueos zinc chloridee and hydrogen gas.
Zn(s) + HCl(aq) = ZnCl2(aq) + H2(g)

6. propane fuel burns in oxygen to form carbon dioxide and water.
C3H8(g) + O2(g) = CO2(g) + H2O(l)

7. Nitrogen combines with hydrogen to make gaseous ammonia.
N2(g) + H2(g) = NH3(g)
